Columbus Family Photographer
Family photography is our thing!
Studio Williams is a Family Photographer with more than a dozen years experience creating portrait art in Columbus, OH. We specialize in capturing those intimate moments starting with your newborns first days of life to the connections between your family, including sibling antics and all the way through their high school senior photos.
"I love that my families come back to me year after year. That is the highest compliment. My very first newborn will be a senior in five short years. The fact that I have gotten to see her grow up before my eyes is not only humbling, it's heartwarming to know I have been a part of this family for so long. And for that, I am truly grateful." -Lori Williams/Studio Williams
So, where do we start?
Can you tell we love what we do?! Let us give you an amazing family photo experience, creating gorgeous portraits that you will hang on your walls for years to come.
Your photo session will begin with a phone consultation to discuss your needs and what you hope to get out of a photo session. Portrait sessions can include family photography, newborn photography, baby photography, tween photos and even engagement photos.
One of the first things asked is about your family. What is their collective personality? Being a family photographer we want to capture their real life love. Can you hear the giggles, feel their hugs? This is the very heart of what we do.
Memories to last forever
Creating art from your family photo session
Your photo session location is just as important too for your family and child photos. The artwork we create should be a seamless compliment to the rest of your decor.
Finding a unique environment for this and where you can have fun and your children can be themselves is thankfully, easy. Columbus has a large variety to choose from. We use natural park areas in Hilliard, Dublin, Westerville, Worthington, New Albany and Grove City to capture these special moments. For a slightly more urban or homey feel to your family photos, Bexley, old Westerville, German Village and downtown Columbus offer some enchanting backgrounds as well. These specifics will be discussed prior to your session.
"What Lori is able to do with natural light is beyond compare. My family photos are all together stunning, natural and fun – she captured my kids’ personalities to a tee. Lori has such a warm, inviting way about her. The first time we met, I felt like we were long lost friends. In addition to her kind personality and creative talent, Lori is extremely professional and always quick to respond to any inquiry. I could not recommend Lori more highly! Let's get this started
When do we book our family photo session?
Choose a season that is right for you. Bookings begin about 4 weeks out, except for the Fall and Holiday season. Spring photo sessions in Columbus start late March and early April. This is when the Dogwoods and Magnolia's start to bloom and we start to see some green grass. Summer sessions show-off the kids carefree sunny days. But honestly, Fall sessions may be our favorite time to shoot family photography. There is something about mid-September through December... the air smells crisper, layered clothing is more fun and the Autumn colors can't be beat. Book quikly because these dates fill up about 8 weeks in advance. We suggest contacting the studio mid-summer to book your photo session.
What do we wear?
Anything and everything. Now is the time to show off your style. Color should coordinate not duplicate. Some patterns are ok. Kids with graphic tees are great for urban settings. Flowing material looks amazing out in a field. We have so many great ideas we would love to share with you during our consultation. You can also check out "What to Wear" for some inspiration.
"It can't be easy to photograph a family of 17 ranging in age from 2 years to 65 years but somehow Lori did it and was able to show everyone's personalities along with the beautiful sunset! She doesn't just take pictures but captures the moment and creates timeless memories that we treasure." Theresa D., Hilliard, OH
